Children of the River

If I knew that I was in any danger and there was a possibility of being an attack, I would have left my home immediately.

I wouldn't leave without my parents. They would be with me, and the plane is headed for a place I don't know. Sadly, I couldn't find any of my friends and can only hope that they are safe too. My life will be very much missed, but I'd restart anywhere if it meant my family and I are safe.

It doesn't matter where I am. I wouldn't change my ways of life. Always, I would pray for those who were still in America, and those who died. Since they wouldn't speak English, it would be even harder trying to learn the language. But I'd have to pretty soon or else finding my way around and communicating with people would be very difficult. I'd never forget about America. Our life would start of difficult, trying to find a place to live and food, but once we settled, even if it took years, there's no sense giving up all the dreams you had in America just because you live somewhere else.

Research Past Two Days

I have searched on the internet for sites that talk about restorative justice, whether it be statistics or personal experiences. For deciding on a topic, I decided to choose one that I think would be important and dealt more with 'healing' and 'restoring' rather than punishing. Justice, being often grim and a disturbing subject, it's taken a lot of mental relaxation for me to get in the mood of this project.

Research

When I hear research, I think of preparing for a project. In 8th grade I had to research for a Keynote presentation on 9/11. I got books from the library, found educational sites on the internet, and worked with my group members to put the whole thing together. I didn't like having to go on my own and try to find resources for the project, and doing it all on the computer. I prefer just taking notes and then putting the final thing on a written paper, rather than doing it all on the computer. The final product was alright, but it was not something I enjoyed. Also, I like researching for an opinion project, rather than straight out facts.
